Having worked at the most premier institute in India for liver transplantation and trained under Prof. Dr. Mohamed Rela and Prof. Dr. A. S. Soin, Dr. Bharat Kumar Nara has a special interest in liver resections and transplantation. He has been performing both cadaver and live-related donor transplantations at Gleneagles Global Hospital since 2016.
He is currently an Executive Member of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo-Surgeons, and a member of various surgical societies including ASI, LTSI, IHPBA, IASG and ACRSI.

Experience
→ Trained under Prof. Thirunavukkarasu, HOD of the Department of GI Surgery, as part of MCh (GI Surgery) training at Narayana Medical College (August 2011 – August 2014), including observerships at SGPGI Lucknow under Prof. Rajan Saxena and at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai under Dr. Shailesh Shrikhande.
→ Senior Resident at Medanta Institute of Liver Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine, Gurgaon (January – June 2011).
→ Worked in the Department of GI Surgery at Narayana Medical College before joining MCh (February 2009 – December 2010) under Dr. S. P. Girish and Dr. P. Balachandran.
→ Registrar, Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, Global Hospital, Hyderabad (May 2008 – February 2009).
→ Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist at Simhapuri Hospitals, Nellore from August 2014.
→ Performs the full range of emergency GI procedures for upper and lower GI bleeding, severe ulcerative colitis, acute pancreatitis, peritonitis and abdominal trauma.
→ Independently performs transhiatal oesophagectomy, radical gastrectomy, Whipple's pancreaticoduodenectomy, radical cholecystectomy, hepatico-jejunostomy, Frey's procedure, restorative proctocolectomy, low anterior and abdominoperineal resection, major hepatectomies and multivisceral resections.
